The Toy Library
A fabulous resource for children and parents, the Toy Library encompasses two floors full of toys, games and more. Upstairs is a large gym equipped with tons of riding toys. Downstairs you'll find books, toys, a dress-up area, a sandbox, and lots more. No food or drinks are allowed, except in the "Time-Out Cafe," where parents are welcome to brew a pot of free Dunkin Donuts coffee!

Open Monday through Friday, 9:00am-Noon and 2:00-4:00pm. The cost is $2 per child over age 1.

Advocates for Children / Parent Resource Center
The PRC offers a wide range of parent education and support services for all families. Ongoing activities include:

Playgroup for children 5 and under ~ Mondays from 10-11 am. Free. Snack provided.

Unsupervised Open Play Time ~ Wed from 1-3 pm. Free.

Cookies & Crafts ~ Thursdays from 10-11 am. Free. Snack provided.

L/A Trails
L/A Trails is a local non-profit organization comprised of volunteers committed to expanding and improving non-motorized trails in Lewiston and Auburn. Their website includes a great list of hiking trails, all in Lewiston and Auburn, many of which are suitable for families with young children.

Children's Discovery Museum
Lots of fun exhibits and events, plus public and private educational resources, all designed to promote discovery of kids' heritage and responsibilities as local, national and global citizens.

Maine State Aquarium & the Burnt Island Lighthouse
Located on the water in beautiful West Boothbay Harbor, Maine, the aquarium and lighthouse are operated by the Maine Department of Marine Resources. The aquarium offers educational programs and presentations, and houses many interactive displays, including numerous touch tanks, which encourage discovery learning. The Burnt Island Lighthouse provides visitors with a unique opportunity to learn about our marine resources and our coastal heritage in a beautiful oceanside setting.
